RESIDENCE IN SWITZERLAND

Non-European citizens may acquire a residence permit in case of beneficial employment (subject to quota management), as retirement residence with previous ties to Switzerland; or as financially independent persons who do not work in Switzerland and pay annual taxes to the Swiss government. For non-European citizens, a Swiss residence permit provides visa free travel to countries within the Schengen area.

There is a widely spread opinion that Switzerland is an expensive country and only accessible to wealthy individuals. However, the cost of living and doing business in Switzerland is very favourable if you compare it with countries such as Germany, France or the USA.
