  • Cyprus lowers cost of acquiring Fast track Citizenship

    The Cypriot government has reduced the cost of its Fast Track Citizenship program, which is known as 'economic citizenship'.

    There are now various ways to be eligible for Cypriot citizenship by making investments in Cyprus. There requirement to be resident in Cyprus to qualify is waived.

  • EU leaders at Brussels summit to discuss immigration policies

    European leader have met in Brussels for a two day summit. In the summit was discussed the digital economy and data security, however leaders of southern and eastern Europe countries also talked about the problem of illegal immigration. The subject of illegal immigration has become a grave concern since the death of 364 migrants who died off the Italian island of Lampedusa on October 3rd 2013.

    An international poll directed by Gallup has revealed that 640 million people around the world, which is 13% of the world's adult population, want to emigrate. A majority, of these come from Asia and Africa. Most desire to relocate in order to find opportunities in Europe or North America.

  • Greece will place additional guards at Turkey border

    Greece is quadrupling the number of guards at their border with Turkey as per their announcement and are increasing security defenses because of influx of Syrian refugees. Thousands of Syrians are expected to arrive at the border after having to flee to Turkey due to civil unrest in their country.

    The European Union (EU) proposed a plan to position drones across the Mediterranean to catch illegal immigrants. The Mediterranean Sea is the main transit point for illegal immigration. To this day 170 immigrants have lost their life trying to reach southern European coasts this year.

  • Germany to plans to accept EU Blue Card applications

    Germany announced that they plan to accept EU Blue Card applications having an effective start date of 1 August 2012. Applicants must have secured a job offer and work contract before applying for the EU Blue Card.
    In May 2009, the European Union (EU) introduced the EU Blue Card, in order to attract skilled workers, and compete against the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
